GOD can do Anything
Matthew 19:26 (ESV)
Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Sometimes in life we are faced with challenges and trials we’d rather not have to deal with;
finances, problems with our children, relational issues with our spouse, our job, etc….And the list can go on and on. To God, the issue is not “the problem”, it’s how we deal with them, the choices we choose, decisions we make on how to handle “the problem”.
Recently I watched my mom go thru cancer treatment after being diagnosed this past January. It was, to say the least, very gut wrenching to observe her physical pain and agony while she withstood chemotherapy and radiation treatments for 8 weeks. I also saw my dad go thru intense emotional pain and distress as he could do nothing but stand by and hold her hand, wishing he could do something more. I would like to say that it was almost more than we could handle as a family, however, only the Lord knows how far we can be stretched.
Thru this whole situation I can say that I saw my parents remain steadfast in God’s word for comfort, always praying every moment (literally) for peace and healing, and faith rising up in our whole family. It truly was a tremendous walk into God’s amazing grace! They did it together!
The choices my parents made to trust the Lord, depend on His word, and lean on the Holy Spirit for comfort are what got them thru their challenge. I believe they learned many things and so did the rest of us. Just think that if they had grumbled and complained to God about the “why me’s”, and professed nothing but the negative, the whole outcome would have been different in ways that we would not have wanted to endure. I am happy to report that my mom is cancer- FREE and doing fabulous! Glory to God!!!
The moral of this blog is to remember when your faced with trials you have choices as to how you deal with it that will make it easier or more difficult. God can make a Change, but we make the Choice!
